Select participants will be given sets of everyday tasks to be completed in front of the group while their senses are impaired, to simulate the physical and mental difficulties of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Afterwards, we’ll discuss the experience from both perspectives- the participants and observers. Registration is required. Please call 610-473-8066 This event will take place in Weidner Hall July 6, 2019

- Writing Workshop is a group that meets twice a month at the library. What started as a guided, self autobiography workshop for seniors has evolved into an all ages program. Topics are discussed and decided upon by the group and sharing is optional. What began as a program of 2 ladies has grown into a group of anywhere from 10-20, meeting to chat, write and discuss life events. Several of our members have gone on to become published authors. Special guests invited such as local authors, publishers ad illustrators to answer writing and publishing questions and concerns. New members welcome anytime! July 6, 2019

- Thank you to the Oley Valley Community Education Foundation for funding the Oley Library Summer Reading Program! This is an interactive, educational live animal program! During this presentation, the participants will get a chance to see the animals up close, while learning about them from our skilled educators. The topics of the presentation may include animal habitats, life cycles, adaptations, classification, and conservation. The participants will have a chance to ask questions and interact with the educators in order to learn more about these amazing animals. June 29, 2019

Participants will work in groups to discover the amazing adaptions of the humble earth worms by conducting experiments with live worms. Worm bins in tow, adults too will discover how small-scale composting in the kitchen can be beneficial to our backyard gardens. June 14, 2019

- Today was day 1 of a unique program we are assisting Clay on Main with, for the next 2 weeks. Through Millersville University, Clay on Main is offering a day camp to children of migrant workers. The children are walking over to the library from 10-11 each day to participate in STEAM activities and story times. Through the kindness of Friedens UCC, the library board and The Real Church, we were also able to feed the kids lunch for the entire length of the 2 week program. June 11, 2019
