Dig Into Reading this Summer at the Oley Library!

Embedded DIG into Reading Logo

Summer is here (unofficially) and we are already digging into our annual Summer Reading Program. Last week we started at the Prout’s Strawberry Festival. I have to say that if you missed it, then you missed out! What a great local event and the library was so pleased to be a part of it. We spent the day talking to families about reading and face painting and enjoying the local strawberries and live music. Super fun!

Then we kicked off our Summer Storytime series with a group of fantastic kids and talked all about construction vehicles that love to DIG. We even created our own construction site complete with real dirt! I think the kids were so excited to be playing with dirt in a library!!!

Whew! And that was just week one. Click on our Summer Reading tab above to view our complete list of events happening this summer at the library. We have a lot of exciting and FREE things for you to explore for kids, teens, and even adults.

If you are having trouble getting your kids to read this summer then perhaps the chance of winning some great prizes will motivate them. We have four grand prizes to choose from this year: a LEGO set valued at $115, An American Girl Doll and Book, 4 tickets to a future Yocum Institute show, and a Nook HD Tablet. We have TWO Nook HD Tablets to give away this summer! One for ages Birth-12 years old and for the first time one just for teens ages 13-18 years old. Come into the library to pick up your Summer Reading Game Boards today and get your kids reading!
